Wayland Junior Broadway

COMING THIS FALL - Wayland Junior Broadway!!

Wayland Junior Broadway (WJB) is a dynamic program for next year's 5th Graders. Offered by the WSCP and the Wayland High School Theater Ensemble (WHSTE), WJB will be an opportunity for 5th Graders to learn more about performing and musical theatre from high school students, while working toward producing and staging a musical (title TBD), itself, in January 2027!

The Vokes Players and Wayland High School present 1776: A Concert Version
The Musical, bringing the drama, humor, and humanity of America’s founding to life through a powerful community collaboration. Presented as part of Wayland 250, this event celebrates the nation’s semiquincentennial while showcasing the talents of local artists united in song and story.

Wayland Community Training on Coercive Control

Presenter: Mei-Ling Ellerman
Date: June 9
Time: 3:30pm - 5:15pm then Q&A
Place: Wayland Council on Aging, 8 Andrew Ave.
You will learn how to: 1) identify a wide range of abusive and controlling behaviors that change over time 2) understand how children are directly targeted and affected by coercive control 3) see through the ways that abusers disguise and normalize their abuse 4) learn how survivors can use the 209A law to obtain legal protection 5) understand the challenges of post-separation abuse.

Community Concert Series

Join us for Summer Thursdays at the Wayland Community Center, with live outdoor music every Thursday evening from 7-8pm, beginning on June 18th. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, coolers, and friends! It’s the perfect way to end a summer day.

After 12 years, Wayland Dads is transitioning its leadership and mission. We invite dads with young kids to join us for an introduction to Wayland Dads, a visioning session and, ultimately, a recruiting effort to run Wayland Dads 2.0.

Little Liberties: Summer Series
Children, Ages 4–10, will gather around a real artifact from our collection, hear its story, and make something to take home, all tied to our current exhibit, Echoes of Liberty.

June 7 at 2 pm, author Tilly Laskey joins us to discuss Precious & Adored: Love Letters of Rose Cleveland & Evangeline Simpson Whipple, 1890–1918 — a fascinating window into a hidden 19th-century romance.

Collections and Fundraisers

Cleats For Kids

Collecting gently used cleats and shin guards to donate to the Framingham United Soccer Club PassItOn program. A collection bin will be outside the Claypit Hill School, Happy Hollow School and the Loker School from Monday, June 1 to Friday, June 12. For questions, please email elliot.koopersmith@gmail.com.
