All English courses teach writing through a process approach and literature through exploring the reader's creative interaction with the text. The teaching objectives in the sequential courses at both the college preparatory and honors levels parallel each other, but the degree of difficulty and expectations of student performance differ significantly. Integral to the four-year English program are individual student conferences with teachers. The objective is for every student to participate in such conferences.
