WHS World Languages and Cultural Studies

We believe that all students are capable of learning languages.  Our goal is to promote communicative abilities and cultural and global awareness among Wayland High School students.  Our modern languages are proficiency-based programs that use ACTFL and Massachusetts State Frameworks. French, Mandarin and Spanish programs provide students with consistent access to authentic language in interactive, immersive classrooms using real-world themes.  Our Latin program focuses on developing in students the skills necessary to interpret, analyze and appreciate essential and relevant Latin Literature.
