Welcome to our new site!

Welcome to Our New Website!

We're proud to bring a new website to the Wayland Schools Community. This new platform is mobile friendly, fully accessible, offers automatic translation, and integrates with our new ParentSquare communication platform. This page is here to help you understand our navigation choices and orient you to the platform. Note - every page has a feedback button in the bottom right, please let us know how we can improve this site for you.

Getting Around

Every menu item is clickable; as we continue building out, some pages are blank, but all pages offer navigation options at the top, allowing you to explore pages in the section you chose.  The district or school logo will always bring you home, and you can see a “breadcrumb” that lets you back up a level.

There are a few things you should know about getting around our new site.  Every menu item is linked to a page, even at the top level.  Some pages are blank, but they will always have navigation buttons helping you to go to the page you need.  Also, the school or district logo is linked to the Home page and there is breadcrumb navigation to help you move toward the top of a section.

Notable Changes

Looking for specific information or links on our new website? We’ve got you covered! Here, we’ve highlighted some key differences between the old site and the new one to help you navigate with ease.

Can’t find what you need? Try using the search feature (look for the magnifying glass icon) to quickly locate what you’re looking for by entering keywords.

  • To protect teacher contact info from spam and phishing attempts, we’ve only listed important contacts on our sites.  To message the teachers of your students, please log into PowerSchool and contact them directly through that platforms.  You can find instructions here.

  • Use the Google Translate icon in the header, located next to the search feature, to translate the website into your preferred language. Simply hover over the icon to reveal a dropdown menu of language options.

Research shows that an icon is more universally recognized by non-English-speaking users than the English word "translate." Additionally, most non-English speakers already have their internet browsers set to their preferred language, making our website translator a helpful secondary tool for added convenience.

  • The website header features a Schools dropdown, giving you quick and easy access to all individual school websites. When visiting a school website, simply click the District Home link to return to the district homepage.

  • The footer on every page has a “Feedback” link that opens a Google Form, allowing you to let us know what you like, issues you find, and requests you have.  Please let us know what you think!

Popular Links

Every school and district site has the opportunity to include “Popular Links” at the top of their page.  These will change as we come to understand the resources that students, families, and community members use frequently.  Please check back on these links regularly to see what’s been added.  And, if you have suggestions for what you’d like to see there, please use the feedback link at the bottom of the page.
